COACHING STAFF

HappyFeet Director, Coach Kali, will be the head coach for your child's HappyFeet Soccer class along with support from the Springfield Director, Josh Ganson. They are both excited to be partnering with The Summit Prep and look forward to having your child in class!

COACH KALI

Originally from Houston, Texas, Kalissa now calls Springfield home. She has played soccer for most of her life and transitioned to a coaching position with HappyFeet in 2019. Since graduating from Kickapoo High School, Kalissa has been working with and around children and has a passion for non-profit organizations and volunteer work. She is lovingly known as Coach Kali on the soccer field where she is a “fan favorite.”

Even though Kalissa now holds the position of Assistant Director, she is still very engaged with the HappyFeet kids and families. Outside of the soccer world, she enjoys spoiling her four pets and working on all kinds of art projects.

COACH JOSH

Originally from Independence, MO Josh started playing soccer around the age of 3. He played in many leagues in and around the KC area while growing up including at All American Indoor Sports where HappyFeet had its beginnings. Josh was a member of the Yellowjackets at Graceland University where he learned that soccer is more about the skills it helps you build rather than the wins and losses. "The games fade away in time but the skills you learn on the field become a part of who you are off the field." This became the philosophy of his coaching career.

Josh coached at the college level for 12 seasons at six different universities in the Midwest and New England regions. Today it is important to Josh that the next generation of soccer players be taught from an early age that mastery of skill and discipline of character are the cornerstones of any successful soccer career. "When you can be disciplined enough to make the right choices in the face of pressure and to practice the small skills and details that no one else wants to work on; you will find success where others can't." This philosophy is what drives him to teach your young children and the coaches of HappyFeet that soccer is a great building block to a successful future.

Josh lives in Nixa with his wife Tasha and their two children: Kinsley and Jayce...along with their two dogs, three fish, and one rabbit.

HappyFeet Class FAQs

WHAT IS HAPPYFEET CLASS AT SCHOOL?

HappyFeet Soccer classes are designed to maximize MVPA (moderate to vigorous physical activity) during your child's school day. This helps them perform better in school and is a welcomed break from their normal routines. Our trained coach comes to your child's school once per week and leads a fun & engaging 1 hour soccer class that will oftentimes include a small scrimmage at the end of class.

DOES MY CHILD NEED TO BRING ANYTHING FOR HAPPYFEET?

Nope! Your coach will come prepared with all of the needed gear for a fun & engaging soccer class. The only request is that your child wear comfortable clothes on HappyFeet days. No special clothes, shoes or gear is needed.

WHO WILL BE COACHING MY CHILD?

Coach Kali will be leading the classes. See above to find out more about her.

WHAT WILL MY CHILD BE DOING IN HAPPYFEET CLASS?

Your child will go on imaginative adventures while learning real soccer skills. Each child will have a soccer ball at their feet for the entire class. Coach will come prepared with new curriculum every month with different games each week. Want to see a sample? Click here for a previous curriculum overview.

MY CHILD LOVED THE FREE SAMPLE CLASS AND I'M READY TO SIGN UP! WHAT DO I DO NOW?

Great! The next step is signing up for the 6-week after school club. You may do so by filling out the form emailed to you from Summit. You only need to sign up once and your Summit family account will be automatically billed.

HOW MUCH IS THE CLASS?

The fee for the 6-week soccer class is $80. Included in this is six, 1-hour classes, coach led curriculum and all the gear needed for our fun adventures!
